UK regulator raids first illegal weight-loss pen factory, seizing retatrutide pens

The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) raided a Northampton warehouse on October 22 and 23, 2025, seizing more than 2,000 unlicensed pens labeled as retatrutide and tirzepatide, tens of thousands of empty pens, raw ingredients and about 20,000 pounds in cash. The MHRA called it the largest single seizure of trafficked weight-loss medicines recorded by any law enforcement agency and the first illicit production site of its kind found in the UK. Retatrutide was still in clinical trials and not licensed anywhere.
