CagriSema delivers 22.7% weight loss in REDEFINE 1, below Novo's 25% expectation

Novo Nordisk reported that CagriSema, a once-weekly combination of the amylin analogue cagrilintide 2.4 mg and semaglutide 2.4 mg, produced 22.7% average weight loss at 68 weeks in the phase 3 REDEFINE 1 trial of 3,417 adults with obesity or overweight. Cagrilintide alone gave 11.8%, semaglutide alone 16.1% and placebo 2.3%. The result fell short of the roughly 25% the company had signaled, and Novo shares fell about 20% that day.
