Researchers reporting in Nature Communications developed PReP-Bicyc, a method for giving peptides two molecular rings while keeping them compatible with phage display, a laboratory screening technique. The method allowed researchers to screen peptide libraries and identify molecules that bound to the protein PD-1 and reduced its interaction with PD-L1 in laboratory tests. This expands tools for studying peptide structure and target binding. The study did not test a treatment in people.
