SYNCHRONIZE-2: survodutide reduces weight in adults with type 2 diabetes

Phase 3 SYNCHRONIZE-2 results were presented at EASD and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, covering 755 adults with overweight or obesity and type 2 diabetes. At 76 weeks, mean weight loss reached 13.1% versus 3.1% with placebo in an analysis that assumes participants remained on treatment. Gastrointestinal side effects caused treatment discontinuation in 18% of survodutide recipients versus 1.2% with placebo. Survodutide remains investigational and has not been approved for use.
