Petrelintide enters phase 3 ZUPREME program targeting about 7,000 participants

Zealand Pharma announced the start of the phase 3 ZUPREME program evaluating petrelintide, an investigational peptide that mimics the hormone amylin, against placebo in adults with overweight or obesity. Three trials, ZUPREME-3, ZUPREME-4 and ZUPREME-5, are expected to enroll approximately 7,000 participants across populations without type 2 diabetes, with type 2 diabetes, or with established cardiovascular disease. Their primary outcome is percentage change in body weight at 64 weeks. The announcement concerns trial initiation and planned enrollment, not phase 3 results or regulatory approval.
