The New England Journal of Medicine published TRIUMPH-1, a phase 3 trial of investigational retatrutide in 2,339 adults with obesity without diabetes. At 80 weeks, mean weight loss reached 25.0% in the highest study group versus 3.9% with placebo, using an intention-to-treat analysis that includes treatment discontinuations. This differs from the 28.3% estimate in Lilly's earlier topline report, which assumed continued treatment. Gastrointestinal adverse events were the most common, and retatrutide remains unapproved.
